How will we fight the war between good and bad? I am glad you asked. How else but with the books. my fellow bibliophile, the bearer of the torch :) By sharing the knowledge, by learning about both sides of the issue, by open dialogue, reflection on our behavior as well as others and by being kind yet firm.

I have never watched a Dr. Who episode, though my children are fans. (My older daughter actually painted her door to look like the tardis.) On the other hand, I’m a huge fan of books, gathering knowledge and open, respectful dialogue.
You can never go wrong with a Doctor Who reference! I love the fact that so many episodes are book themed (“Good ole JK!” was my favorite.) Love how you wove the quotes into your slice.
P.S. I used to make the closet in the back of my classroom into the TARDIS!

My husband is a fan and so are the kids. We watch them as a family and each of us have a favorite Doctor. Sometimes it is a toss between a couple.

This was one of the things I talked to students about in my college prep lit class. Our essential question was, “Why do we need the things in books?” We had great conversations throughout the course of the semester and most did realize by the end that we need books to think and to empathize.
PS I’ve never seen Dr. Who either. Although I had students who were huge fans.

The show supposed to be aimed at kids. We must have binged watched it several times as well. Steve started it, the kids picked up the beat. I knit the scarves for them and read books / make scarves while watching them as family. We are fans and enjoy the show as there are some subtle issues discussed. It makes a good teaching / discussion point about the world at large.
On the other hand, if you have not seen it , it is really not a big loss.

If only issues could be boiled down to just both sides… Fortunately, there are books to inspect myriad facets of life’s complexities. Next trick is getting from those books back to navigate reality fruitfully 🙂
