Super Tuesday

Super Tuesday

A day when political future of many President wanna  be is being decided by general population.  Or is it, really?

For democratic party two female and two male candidates are still standing.  But if we here media hype, we will not even know Tulsi Gabbard  is in running.  When pundits are discussing Biden & Bernie, Warren is mentioned in passing.

No, I will not call it a conspiracy or old white men’s ways to keep capable candidates away.¬† I will call what it is.¬† Apathy and inaction from general public, media’s greedy grab for TRP and …… .

Did you vote in primary?  Are you looking forward to the general election?

Laundry

Laundry

Laundry.  Never ending one task.  I remember the time when my daughter was itty bitty and into changing clothes.  I had to sit her down and explained that if she changes 5 outfits in a day, all of them does not need to go into wash.

Today, the washer was kid of quiet.  When I went to do washer-dryer exchange, I realized, I had closed the lid but forgot to press start.  Getting old anyone?

Deep Thoughts from A Mother

Deep Thoughts from A Mother

Sitting at my desk,

Not the desk.

Is it just a table?

is it even mine?

Glass table

Fragile  fragile  functional

Cuttered  Cluttered  Cramped…

Just like my life.

Slice of Life: Cross out n Create

I believe it was Margaret Simon who wrote cross out poems with her students.   One of my goals for participating in Slice of Life challenge is to stretch myself and grow. With that in mind, here is my humble attempt to write a stanza for a cross out poem that is a message to self using feedback on one of my assignments.

Design your reflection to locate present

Do a fantastic job to balance components

Create visuals, promote learners

Now your turn to share your poem.

Peace (in creating)

Aim

Life without an aim is like a ship without sails. Both will be pushed around whicheve way the wind blows; neither will reach their destination in time. -Kishorbhai Trivedi

My father is a wise man.  Long time ago, as we were walking around the market, he asked me,

“Beta, what is your goal?¬† What would you like to do with your life?”

A teenager me had no clue what I wanted to do besides be happy, have fun and read books.  My dad, the wise & kind man continue the conversation.  With a smile on his face and love in his heart he said:

Life without an aim is like a ship without sails. Both will be pushed around whicheve way the wind blows; neither will reach their destination in time. -Kishorbhai Trivedi

It is my turn to ask my teenagers,

“What is your aim in life? How are you achieving it?”

Peace (in living and sharing)

Beta = my child, my daughter, my son.  Beta is a term of endearment used by elders to younger person in

Slice of Life

Life of Service

Start and keep on going till reaching the goal or taking a detour

Yesterday, I talked about the need to take first step & start on a path rather than wishing for a lofty goal.  Sometimes after starting and going on for a while, we may choose to take a detour or go on a hiatus for various reasons.  When we decide to get back in the game, we may think:

  • What should I do?¬†
  • Is it too late?
  • Do I have what it takes or have I missed the bus?
  • Should I rejoin the game or sit out & pout?

Why am I even writing about this?  Well, I am sharing my thoughts with you while finding answers for myself.   I am at a crossroads where I need to start on a path, even if it requires detours after only 2 steps.  As I am mulling over my choices, I came across this TED Talk РEk Nayi Soch hosted by ShahRukh Khan.  Let us grab a cup of coffee and watch it together.  After that, we can talk about Dr. Dhillon, her life of service and others remarkable people like her.  She sure is an inspirational lady.

If I Die

If I Die,

 Would you go on?

Like wisp of a willow

Or, would you hold together & Keep on walking

Keeping one foot in front of another

Till the day we meet again?

If you die,

Would I die with you?

Lost amid sea of life without my anchor?

Or would I gather the broken pieces of my heart

& keep on walking till I find you again?

Will we Perish or Go on?

We know the answer.

We will go on.

Yes,

at one time

we would have walked …..

barefoot over the desert of hot sand

to answer the call of each other

But No more.

Now, we have our kids to look after.
