Today
A new day, new beginning
Snuggles, cuddles, getting ready
Teaching, reaching, reflecting
Today also brings
Parent-teacher conferences
Meeting peers for math competition
and visit to McD on way back
Today,
Let me not rush,
Let me savour, the moments, the meetings,
Getting to know fellow educators
Reaching, teaching, reflecting
Today

A busy day! But, the intention to savor – absolutely what we need to do more of, right? Loved the format of this – almost a list poem, but really much more… an intention poem!
Thank you.
Savoring moments, not rushing is a reminder to me. It also helps me with not being anxious, not rushing through and breath. Therefore, it is an intention poem ( till you named it, I did not know there is a form of poetry called intention poem 🙂
Best wishes.
Thank you for sharing! I have parent teacher conferences later this week. Good luck with your day!
Michelle,
This is my first year at the school.
Parents of 6 students came and each of them were wonderful. Some had concerns, some had kids with stellar record and some just wanted to say hello.
As we had 9 snow days this quarter (out of 20 some school days) there is not really any new things to report. It is always nice to see parents of our students, ya?
I appreciated that in your busy day you are also making sure that you savour the moments.
Thank you. May I have your blog url so I can visit your blog as well?
Have fun at your math competition. Will you have students participating? My boys (3) all went to math competitions throughout school. One went on to get a degree in mathematics. It sounds like you were looking forward to your day! It is refreshing! from The Apples in My Orchard on WordPress.
Carol,
When I saw your name, I realized it is you. I visit your blog every now and then (even though I always don’t leave comment. I love the albums you put together)
Re: Math competition: We had 16 students competing. 4 from each class. One of our junior varsity young lady, a freshman, was in 7-way (yes, 7-way) tie. We did fairly well as a team beating equal # of teams as once we got beaten by.
It was a good experience for students and mentors alike. We are already looking forward to next year.:)
Best wishes.

Good luck with parent/teacher conferences! Love this slice in poem form – and how you begin and end on the word “today.”
Beth,
Thank you. It was not intentional, or was it?
I knew once I leave home for school, I was not going to be back home till almost midnight. So I wanted to savor the morning, share and fulfill my commitment. I am glad you enjoyed my slice.
What is your blog url?
Best wishes.
